What can I NOT sell on SwagDeel?

SwagDeel takes the safety, legality, and overall integrity of our marketplace seriously. We prohibit the listing of items that are illegal, harmful, or that violate our platform’s values. Sellers are responsible for ensuring their items comply with our guidelines.

Items not allowed on SwagDeel include, but are not limited to:

  1. Illegal Items
    Any item that is prohibited by law.

  2. Alcohol, Prescription Drugs, Over-the-Counter Drugs, Narcotics, and Drug Paraphernalia
    This includes tobacco, cannabis-derived products, and e-cigarettes.

  3. Counterfeit, Fake, Imitation, and Replica Items
    Any counterfeit or replica of branded items, including pirated material.

  4. Stolen Goods
    Items that are stolen or unlawfully obtained.

  5. Perishable Goods
    Items that can spoil or decay (e.g., food or flowers).

  6. Store-Bought or Homemade Foods
    Food items are not allowed for sale.

  7. Live Animals and Illegal Wildlife Products
    Any wildlife or animal-related products that are illegally sourced.

  8. Pornography or Adult Toys
    This includes sexually explicit materials or adult-oriented items.

  9. Weapons, Explosives, Firearms, Ammunition, Knives, and Swords
    This excludes standard kitchen cutlery. Other weapons and dangerous items are strictly prohibited.

  10. Solicitations or Advertisements of Any Service
    This includes any offers for services (e.g., haircuts, tutoring).

  11. Digital Goods
    We do not permit the sale of digital products such as software, music, or e-books.

  12. Recalled Items
    Items listed by federal regulators or manufacturers as being recalled.

  13. Hateful or Offensive Content
    Any item that promotes hate, violence, or discrimination.

Selling on SwagDeel is simple and effective, but to make sure your items sell fast, follow these tips for creating the perfect listing!

1. Upload High-Quality Photos

  • Lighting is Key: Ensure your photos are bright and well-lit. Use natural light if possible, or take the photos near a well-lit window.

  • Clear and Focused: Avoid dark or blurry pictures. Make sure your photos are sharp and focused, showing off your item in detail.

  • Minimal Background: A cluttered background can distract buyers. Use a simple, clean space to keep the focus on your item.

  • Show the Item from Multiple Angles: Include close-up shots, full-body views for clothing, and pictures of any flaws (if applicable).

2. Write a Detailed Description

  • Be Specific: Include important details like the brand, size, condition, color, material, and style.

  • Mention Defects: If there are any flaws, describe them clearly. Being honest about the item’s condition builds trust with buyers.

  • Provide Dimensions: For items like furniture, electronics, or home goods, make sure to include size and measurements.

SwagDeel provides a Q & A section on each product listing page to facilitate communication between buyers and sellers. Here’s how it works:

For Buyers:

  • Posting Questions: If you’re interested in an item but have questions, look for the ‘Q & A’ tab on the product listing page. Only registered SwagDeel users are able to post questions.

  • Vetting Process: Once you post a question, SwagDeel will vet it to ensure it follows our guidelines before forwarding it to the seller.

  • Seller Response: After receiving your question, the seller will provide a response, which SwagDeel will then upload to the Q & A tab.

  • Notified: Once the seller responds, you’ll receive an automated email letting you know to check the product listing for the answer.

For Sellers:

  • Responding to Questions: While it’s not mandatory for sellers to answer questions, quick responses can significantly increase the likelihood of a sale.

  • Visibility of Answers: All answers will be visible to other buyers, so if other buyers have the same question, they can easily find the answer without contacting you directly.

Why the Q & A Section Helps:

  • Efficiency: The Q & A section saves time by centralizing all questions and answers in one place. Other potential buyers with the same question can browse and find answers, reducing repetitive inquiries.

  • Building Trust: Buyers are more likely to make a purchase if their questions are answered promptly and clearly. Providing thorough, helpful responses helps establish trust with your potential buyers.

How does shipping work?

As a seller on SwagDeel, it’s important to follow the platform’s shipping policies to ensure a smooth and reliable experience for both you and your buyers. Here’s what you need to know:

Shipping Timeline:

  • Ship Within 2 Business Days: Once your item is sold, you are expected to ship it within 2 business days or meet with the buyer in person to deliver the item within the same timeframe.

  • Shipping Costs: If you offer shipping, the cost of shipping will be clearly indicated in the product listing.

Prepaid Shipping Labels:

  • Prepaid, Pre-addressed Label: After a sale, SwagDeel will provide you with a pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label. This label will include a tracking number to reduce the risk of your package being lost in transit.

  • Required Shipping Labels: All items that need to be shipped must have a shipping label purchased through SwagDeel. This ensures that you are using a reliable and verified service for shipping your item.

Payment to Sellers:

  • Payment Release: As a seller, you will receive your payment after the buyer’s return window has expired. This window is 2 days from the delivery date. If the buyer has not initiated a return during that time, payment will be released to you.

  • Return Claims: Buyers can initiate a return if the item is not as described, arrives damaged, or is not received. If no return is initiated within the 2-day return window, you will be paid for the sale.

Track Your Shipment:

  • Tracking Number: Every prepaid shipping label comes with a tracking number, which allows you and the buyer to track the progress of the shipment. This tracking number helps both parties stay updated on the delivery status and can be important in case of any shipping issues.

Local meetup after a sale

When completing a local sale through SwagDeel, here are some important safety guidelines and tips for both buyers and sellers:

  1. Use SwagDeel’s Messaging System: Always communicate with the buyer using SwagDeel’s messaging system. This ensures that both parties have a record of the conversation, and SwagDeel can provide support if needed.

  2. Agree to Meet in a Safe, Public Location:

    • It’s important to meet in a safe, public location for the exchange. Ideal places include shopping centers, coffee shops, or any well-populated area where there are plenty of people around.

    • Daylight Hours: Meet during daylight hours for added safety.

  3. Keep Personal Information Private:

    • Do not share personal details such as your phone number, home address, or any confidential information. Keep the transaction through SwagDeel until the item is in hand.

    • Protect your privacy and security by sticking to the platform’s messaging system.

  4. No Transactions Outside SwagDeel:

    • SwagDeel requires all transactions to be completed through the platform. Taking transactions offline or attempting to finalize a deal outside of SwagDeel is strictly prohibited and could result in account suspension.

Can I cancel a transaction?

If a seller needs to cancel an order for any reason, such as issues with the condition of the item, shipping problems, or if they no longer have the item, here’s the process to follow:

  1. Contact the Buyer:

    • The seller must reach out to the buyer using SwagDeel’s messaging system via the seller dashboard. This is to inform the buyer about the cancellation and to explain the reason for it. Clear communication is key to keeping the process smooth.

  2. Confirm the Cancellation:

    • After the seller messages the buyer, SwagDeel will confirm the cancellation of the order. It’s important to note that once the cancellation is confirmed by SwagDeel, the buyer will be refunded their original payment.

  3. Refund Process:

    • Once the cancellation is confirmed by SwagDeel, the buyer will receive a full refund, which will be processed according to SwagDeel’s refund policies.

Sellers should make every effort to avoid cancellations by accurately listing the item, providing clear details, and being prompt with shipping. However, if an issue arises, following these steps will ensure the process is handled properly and fairly for both the buyer and the seller.

How does the return policy affect me?

All sales on SwagDeel are final unless one of the following conditions applies:

  • Item arrives damaged

  • Item does not match the listing

  • Missing items from the listing

  • Item was never shipped

SwagDeel guarantees a free return and full refund for the reasons mentioned above. However, if the buyer does not make a claim within 2 days of receiving the item, payment will be released to the seller, and the sale will be final.

Important Guidelines for Returns and Refunds:

  1. Returns and Refunds Won’t Be Granted for:

    • Wear, stains, or other flaws that are mentioned or pictured in the listing.

    • Items that don’t fit or have an odor.

    • Buyer’s change of mind.

    • A return request made more than 2 days after receiving the item.

    • Transactions conducted offline.

  2. Return Process:

    • If the buyer believes the item is eligible for a return (due to damage, mismatch, etc.), they can request a return within 2 days of receiving the item.

    • SwagDeel’s support team will review the situation to confirm whether the item meets the return criteria.

    • If the return is approved, a free shipping label will be provided to the buyer, and the buyer has 2 days to ship the item back to the seller.

    • Once the seller confirms receipt of the returned item, the buyer will receive a refund for the purchase price and original shipping cost.

  3. Buyer’s Responsibilities:

    • Review listing details carefully before purchase.

    • Refuse delivery if the package is visibly damaged during transit to ensure a smoother return process.

  4. Exceptions to Refunds:

    • If a return is denied for reasons such as the item being as described, fit issues, or buyer’s change of mind, the buyer can relist the item on SwagDeel within 48 hours. SwagDeel will waive seller fees for the relisting.

  5. Abuse of Refund Policy:

    • Abuse of this policy by either the buyer or seller (such as claiming false damage or repeatedly returning items) may lead to account restrictions, seller fee charges, and possible legal action.

SwagDeel takes all refund claims seriously and will always strive to handle cases in a fair and neutral manner, ensuring both the buyer and seller are treated equitably.

Payments to the seller

Payment Processing on SwagDeel

  • All payments to sellers will be processed on the following business day after the buyer’s return window (2 days) has expired.

  • Depending on your bank, it may take up to 5 business days for the payment to appear in your bank account balance.

  • To avoid any surprises, it’s a good idea to check with your bank to confirm their processing times for electronic deposits.

This ensures that both the buyer and seller have ample time to resolve any potential return issues before the transaction is finalized and payment is released.

What is seller protection?

  • Coverage: SwagDeel provides protection for shipments up to $100 if a prepaid USPS shipping label is purchased through our platform. This covers items that are damaged during transit or lost.

  • Local Pickups, Deliveries, and Meetups: Note that local pickups, local deliveries, and local meetups are not covered by this protection.

  • Eligibility:

    • The package must have a prepaid USPS shipping label purchased through SwagDeel.

    • The package must be scanned by USPS’ tracking system within 2 business days of the sale.

    • The weight on the prepaid label must be equal to or greater than the actual weight of the package and must not exceed USPS’ package size limit.

  • Claims Process:

    • Damaged items: Claims must be filed within 2 calendar days from the documented delivery time.

    • Lost items: Claims can be filed 7 or more days after the last shipping update.

  • Exclusions:

    • Improper Packaging: Items not properly packaged by the seller are not covered under the protection.

    • Changed Shipping Information: If the shipping address or label is altered, the item will not be covered.

  • Claim Review: If a buyer submits a damaged or lost claim, SwagDeel will request photos and descriptions of the issue for diligent review.

This protection ensures both buyers and sellers can have peace of mind when using SwagDeel’s shipping services.
