How to ship

How does shipping work?

Sellers are expected to ship sold items within 2 business days or meet with the buyer to deliver the item within that same time frame.  The price of shipping, if offered by the seller, will be listed.  When posting your item on SwagDeel, accurately measure the size and weight of your package so you can avoid unexpected fees.  Sellers are responsible for any additional fees if the prepaid shipping label is insufficient because the package is oversized or overweight.  USPS will chargeback, resulting in those fees being deducted from your sales, or they may return the item to the seller.

Insurance

All sellers providing shipping are required to purchase a USPS shipping label through SwagDeel for orders placed through the SwagDeel platform.  USPS Priority Mail and Ground Advantage automatically insure packages up to $100 at no additional cost.  For $100 and under with no declared value stated in the shipment, sellers can make a claim using the USPS website.

If the package is worth more than $100, the seller can purchase additional insurance coverage through USPS at the time of dropoff.  The seller must input a declared value at the time of purchase.

Pack & prepare your sold item properly

It’s not necessary to buy brand new packaging material; in fact, we encourage sellers to reuse packing supplies.  This will save you money and time and lower the environmental impact.  With that advice, use packaging that meets the carrier’s requirements and is strong enough to protect your item during transit.  A poorly packaged item that gets damaged during transit can be returned by the buyer for a full refund.

Consider using bubble wrap, packing peanuts, or styrofoam when shipping fragile items that can easily break.  Pack your items so that they won’t rattle or break during transit.  Boxes should be clean and unlabeled to prevent mis-scanning of barcodes or labels.  Minor markings can be blacked out or covered with opaque tape.  Ensure the correct package is being used for the right service, i.e., do not use a ‘USPS Priority Mail’ package when you are sending by ‘USPS Ground Advantage’.

Take a photo of your item before you pack it and of the packaged box with the shipping label should you encounter a dispute with the buyer.  Be sure to tape the whole shipping label to your package.

Shipping with USPS

When you ship with USPS, it is your responsibility for packaging and getting your sold item to an official USPS drop off location.  This includes using the correct shipping label and box that was paid for by the buyer, i.e. if Ground Advantage shipping was selected by the buyer, do not use a Priority Mail box.  The seller will be responsible for any necessary fees or overages incurred from USPS for shipping your item.

Shipping labels may not be transferred or sold to a third party.  All shipping labels will only be used to send corresponding SwagDeel orders.  Shipping labels purchased through SwagDeel are fulfilled by USPS, not SwagDeel.  By using USPS postage, you agree to comply with the USPS rules and the USPS Privacy Act Statement within the USPS Privacy Policy.

The Seller is responsible for the contents of any parcel you dispatch using shipping labels purchased through SwagDeel.  In addition to SwagDeel’s shipping policies, you must comply with all state, federal, and USPS laws, terms, and regulations.  SwagDeel can only provide assistance and protection for packages that are mailed at an approved USPS location using the shipping label we provide.

SwagDeel is not liable or responsible for any issues you may have with USPS’ services and you should contact USPS as needed.  In addition, SwagDeel is not responsible for any issues you may encounter while items you dispatch using shipping labels purchased via SwagDeel.  That means if an item is lost, damaged, or arrives later than expected, you will have no recourse against SwagDeel, regardless of SwagDeel’s involvement in resolving the issue.  Please review the USPS terms and conditions for more information on how USPS handle parcels that are lost, damaged, or delayed.

Local Pickup or Shipping?

1.  If it is a local meet-up, the seller will contact the buyer to arrange a day and time to meet at a safe location.  After the delivery has been confirmed with the seller and buyer, the buyer has 2 days to open a claim if they feel the item meets SwagDeel’s return policy.  Meet-ups are not covered by SwagDeel’s Seller Protection.  SwagDeel’s Seller Protection covers the cost of a package that gets lost in transit only when using a pre-paid postage label purchased through SwagDeel.

2.  To ship your item through USPS, print out a pre-paid shipping label that can be found in the seller dashboard.  Navigate to the ‘Seller Dashboard’ and click on the ‘Orders’ tab on the left.  Click on the correct order number, then click on ‘Create Shipping Label’ under Shipment.  Next, click on ‘Print Shipping Label’ and print out the generated USPS shipping label on your printer.  This will need to be securely attached to your package.  A tracking number can be found on the label for you and your buyer.  If you need to adjust the weight or dimensions of your package, contact support@swagdeel.com.

Now that your order is packaged, take it to the correct shipping carrier for dropoff!

Don't have a printer?

Using your mobile device, log in and pull up your shipping label through your seller account on Swagdeel.com.  Scan the bar code and print your label at a USPS shipping kiosk.  If a shipping kiosk is not available, ask a post office worker to assist you.  Attach the label securely to your package and drop off.

Can the shipping address be changed on the label?

To prevent fraudualent activity, the buyer’s address cannot be edited once a purchase is complete.  If the buyer requests that you ship the item to another address, we recommend the buyer cancel the order and go through checkout again.  Contact SwagDeel support for any questions.
