How to ship
How does shipping work?
Sellers are expected to ship sold items within 2 business days or meet with the buyer to deliver the item (Local Pickup) within that same time frame. The price of shipping and shipping options will be in the product listing, if available. When posting your item on SwagDeel, accurately measure the size of the package and weight to avoid unexpected fees. Sellers are responsible for any additional fees if the prepaid shipping label is insufficient because the package is oversized or overweight. Carriers will charge back, resulting in those fees being deducted from your sales, or they may return the item back to the seller.
Pack & prepare your sold item properly
It’s not necessary to buy brand-new packaging material; in fact, we encourage sellers to reuse packing supplies. This will save you money and time and lower the environmental impact. With that advice, use packaging that meets the carrier’s requirements and is strong enough to protect your item during transit. A poorly packaged item that gets damaged during transit can be returned by the buyer for a full refund.
Consider using bubble wrap, packing peanuts, or styrofoam when shipping fragile items that can easily break. Pack your items so that they won’t rattle or break during transit. Boxes should be clean and unlabeled to prevent mis-scanning of barcodes or labels. Minor markings can be blacked out or covered with opaque tape. Ensure the correct package is being used for the right service, i.e., do not use a ‘USPS Priority Mail’ package when you are sending by ‘USPS Ground Advantage.’
Take a photo of your item before you pack it and of the packaged box with the shipping label, should you encounter a dispute with the buyer. Be sure to tape the whole shipping label to your package.
Print your shipping label
If you offered shipping through SwagDeel, and your buyer selected this option, you can see what shipping service was selected by the buyer in your Seller Dashboard, under the ‘Orders’ tab. This method will always provide a tracking number for the seller and buyer to track the shipment. Your package weight must be on or under the weight stated on the shipping label. If not, it will be subject to underpaid postage, or it may be returned to the seller. SwagDeel prepaid labels are insured for up to $200 if your package gets lost or damaged.
Print our pre-paid shipping label by following these simple steps
- Go to your Seller Dashboard and click on the ‘Orders‘ tab
- Click on the orange button, ‘Create Shipping Label,’ confirm the size and weight of your package, and click ‘Print Shipping Label.’ This is where you can adjust these specifications; however, if there are any increases, you will have to pay the difference through SwagDeel.
- A pop-up with the shipping information and package details will appear, asking for confirmation. If correct, click ‘Confirm.’
- Your shipping label will be generated and ready for you to print out. Attach the label to your package with clear tape.
- Drop your package off at any USPS location.
